  •  18 Jul 2016 - 22 Jul 2016
     8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Organisers: Magnus Goffeng (Chalmers University of Technology/University of Gothenburg), Adam Rennie (University of Wollongong), Aidan Sims (University of Wollongong)

The first week of the Refining C*-algebraic invariants for dynamics using KK theory program will feature three graduate-level lecture series:

  • Kasparov’s KK-theory (Bram Mesland)
  • Groupoids and C*-algebras (Robin Deeley)
  • Hilbert modules and Cuntz-Pimsner algebras (Adam Rennie/Aidan Sims)

The purpose of this lecture program is to provide an introduction to the key background topics needed for students to derive maximum benefit from participation in the program. The three lecture series will be delivered by experts in the respective fields who are well-known for presenting well prepared and accessible research talks. The lectures will be scheduled in the mornings, leaving afternoons free for research interaction amongst resident researchers and for students to consolidate the new ideas discussed in the morning’s lectures.
