Program Description:
Far-from-Equilibrium Dynamics of Interfaces governs complex processes in nature, technology, industry, and has high impacts on society. Examples include supernovae, space weather, materials processing, plasma fusion, energy, and environment. This cornerstone mathematical problem is an excessive challenge for theory, simulations, and data science.
The goal of this research program is to advance knowledge of Far-from-Equilibrium Dynamics, by elaborating rigorous analytical, efficient numerical, and confident statistical methods for exploring the Interface Dynamics, and by tightly linking these methodologies to realistic environments. It aims to assess the state-of-the-art in Far-from-Equilibrium Interface Dynamics; develop the methods of studies of boundary value problems at the kinetic and at continuous scales; chart new research directions in this field.
This research program brings together researchers from pure and applied mathematics, applied analysis, numerical methods, complex systems, stochastic processes, data science, and fluid dynamics. The participants include internationally recognized leaders and researchers in the senior, middle, and early stages of their carriers, from Australia and overseas.
