MATHEMATICS OF RISK – CONFERENCE

MATRIX is an international research institute that runs research programs where world leading researchers in the mathematical sciences, as well as experts from business and industry, can come together to collaborate in an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment. MATRIX is situated at the Creswick Campus, University of Melbourne.

The Mathematics at Risk program will be holding a conference from 27 November to 1st December 2017.

The conference will mostly address, but will not be limited to:

  • aspects of mathematical modelling and subsequent analysis of risks related to activities in the financial industry and more generally, economics; and
  • studying mathematical theory that can be used to model more general types of risk, related to chronic and long-term hazards and extremes, as well as the interplay between them.
