Program Description:

This workshop focuses on the mathematical aspects of Einstein’s theory of gravity, general relativity. Our emphasis will be on developments that are related to the theory of gravitational waves and cosmology. This includes:

  • the asymptotics of the gravitational field, in the context of the global non-linear evolution problem, both for isolated self-gravitating systems and in the cosmological setting;
  • the study of Einstein–matter systems, in particular with regard to the study of emitted radiation, Newtonian and post-Newtonian approximations;
  • advances in numerical simulations;
  • and advances in scattering theory.

Researching gravity naturally draws from a range of disciplines. The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers in pure mathematics, theoretical physics, and data science who are working on topics in mathematical general relativity related to gravitational waves.
