Gabriele Tartaglino-Mazzucchelli (University of Queensland)
Program Description:
The aim of this program is to make progress on open questions in string theory and supergravity and the underlying mathematical structures. This includes the study of new dualities in theories with a minimal amount of supersymmetry and their interplay with geometry, new types of deformations of supergravity, and the development of new methods to compute quantum corrections in both string and supergravity theories.
The program follows up on two highly successful MATRIX programs held in 2024: “New deformations in quantum field and gravity theories” and “The geometry of moduli spaces in string theory” that have spawned new collaborations, publications, and two ARC Discovery Projects. It will bring together Australian and international experts with the aim to strengthen existing collaborations and to forge new ones in a research-focused two-week event. The program hopes to make progress in the following topics:
- Heterotic vs. Type II: sigma model perspective;
- Heterotic vs. Type II: mirror symmetry and enumerative geometry;
- Higher Derivative Supergravity;
- TTbar deformations in Supergravity;
