Program Description: This research program aims at gathering experts at an international scale on very active areas of research: birational geometry in positive and mixed characteristic, moduli theory, K-stability and Hodge theory. The program’s main goal is to promote discussion and collaboration on these increasingly specialised and yet deeply interconnected branches of the field.
This research program will include survey and research talks by leading researchers in these areas:
- Moduli problems and stability – invited speakers: Sándor Kovács (Washington) and James McKernan (UC San Diego)
- Algebraic geometry in positive and mixed characteristics – invited speakers: Hélène Esnault (Berlin) and Paolo Cascini (Imperial)
- Deformation of varieties through Hodge theory and moduli of Higgs bundles – invited speakers: Mark De Cataldo (Stony Brook) and Mihnea Popa (Harvard)
