Program Description:
This MATRIX program brings together researchers with interests in hyperbolic partial differential equations. It focuses on global evolution problems, and their geometric and microlocal analysis.
The 2-week program is designed to foster interaction and collaboration among its 20-30 participants: the schedule is kept purposefully light, with only two talks a day, and most time set aside for informal discussions; participants are also encouraged to organise mini seminars on special topics of interest.
The broad themes of this program are: geometric analysis, microlocal analysis, and their interactions in the study of hyperbolic equations, as they arise in general relativity, fluids, and quantum mechanics; global existence, stability, and scattering problems; singularity formation in nonlinear PDE.
