Program Description:
This workshop aims to bring about new insights or methods in the study of low-dimensional manifolds by bringing together researchers in various subfields of low-dimensional topology who have a likelihood of interaction. These include researchers working in the areas of 3- and 4-manifolds, including diverse perspectives that do not usually interact with each other. The goal of the workshop is to create interaction between these fields, to encourage collaboration and concrete problem solving, by working on open problems of mutual interest during the workshop. With the differences in time zones, teams or researchers are to be working on problems nearly around the clock for the days of the workshop.
