Organisers:
Rhea Palak Bakshi (University of California, Santa Barbara, USA)
Dionne Ibarra (Monash University)
Gabriel Montoya-Vega (University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras)

Program Description:

This programme will bring together leading specialists from around the world to advance research on skein modules and their many variants in knot theory. By convening mathematicians across career stages in the collaborative environment of MATRIX, the programme will foster the exchange of ideas, open new research directions, and cultivate lasting international collaborations. The opening days will feature presentations by invited experts, who will introduce their areas of specialisation and highlight central problems to be addressed. To ensure a common foundation, participants will received preparatory reading material in advance. Following the presentations, participants will be organised into working groups based on shared research interests. The remainder of the program will be devoted to intensive collaboration within these groups, with core themes including the Kauffman bracket skein module, the skein lasagna module, the SLn skein module and algebra, and categorical approaches to skein modules.
