Program Description:
Non-linear differential equations of  hyperbolic type underlie many of the main focus points in mathematical physics and geometric analysis. Their study influences and connects topics like general relativity, fluid dynamics, spectral theory, and dynamical systems. This research program will bring together leading mathematicians in cutting edge research areas to discuss hyperbolic equations and their many facets; this includes experts in fluids working on the Navier-Stokes equations, in general relativity working on important problems like cosmic censorship and global stability of special space-times, and in microlocal analysis, which has recently found important use in well-posedness problems for quasi-linear PDEs.
